Matching martini glass wrist tattoos
Geometric · Other · Black and grey · Photo
Two people hold hands so that their inner wrists show matching small tattoos of a martini glass. Each glass is drawn with thin black lines and simple triangular shapes, with a line crossing the bowl. The image is a close, slightly angled photo with plain skin tones, painted nails in red, teal and glitter, and a light wooden floor behind.

The reunion was in the function room above the Crown, the one with the carpet that had kept its pattern through three decades of spilt lager, and Marnie spotted Jo before Jo spotted her, which was how it had always been. Jo stood by the raffle table holding a glass of something pink, turning the stem between finger and thumb the way she used to turn a pencil in double maths.

They had drawn the glasses on the back of a chip shop receipt in the sixth form common room, Jo with a ruler, Marnie with a biro that kept skipping. Three triangles, one line through the bowl like a cocktail stick someone had forgotten to take out. "Seventeen is too young for a tattoo," Mr Pryce had said when he saw the sketch, and they had agreed, solemnly, that they would wait until they were old enough to be wrong about it.
Jo had got hers in a basement in Hull on a Tuesday, while Marnie was on nights at the hospital and could not swap a shift for love or money. The photo arrived at four in the morning, a thumb over one corner, the lines sharp and thin. Marnie had sent back a row of tiny cocktail glasses and a message that said only: you absolute menace.
Now Jo crossed the room and held her arm out under the strip lights, and Marnie held out hers beside it. The two glasses sat a hand's width apart, slightly off true, exactly as they had been drawn on that receipt. "Still tipping," Jo said. "Still crooked," said Marnie, and they laughed until the DJ asked whether they wanted the Spice Girls or not.
