Star Wars sleeve on upper arm
Realism · Upper arm · Black and grey · Photo
A large sleeve tattoo covers the upper arm and shows Darth Vader's helmet at the centre, with stormtrooper helmets in the lower half and a bounty hunter helmet along the right edge. TIE fighters, a Death Star and a spaceship are set in the background behind the figures. The work uses smooth, detailed grey shading and high contrast highlights, and the composition fills the arm from shoulder to elbow.

Nobody in Hollow Fen had seen a helmet like it until Ada Pruett pulled one out of the bean trench in March, black as a rook's wing, its eye slits packed with clay. She carried it into the kitchen and set it between the teapot and the seed packets, and the whole family stood round it as if it were a dead thing they could not decide how to bury.

Her grandfather said it had fallen off a cart the year the canal froze. Her uncle said it was a painted tin pan from the Michaelmas fair. The helmet said nothing. It sat on the windowsill for a week, facing the lane, while the frost came and went and the rooks argued over the elm.
On the eighth morning Ada pulled it on to frighten her little brother, and found it heavier than a pail of wet sand. The world went small and hissing and smelled of cold iron. Through the slits she saw the white-shirted boys from the chapel field marching up the lane in step, each one with a stick for a rifle, and the curate's dog trotting behind them with its tail up like a standard. She laughed, and the laugh came back to her out of the metal, deep and tired, as if it belonged to somebody much older who had long since stopped finding anything funny.
She took it off and put it back in the trench the next day, mouth turned up to the sky so the rain would fill it. By June the runner beans had climbed right up the dented crown and were flowering white over the visor, and nobody in the village ever dug there again.
