Stitch cartoon character on a lower leg

Neo-trad · Calf · Colour · Photo

A cartoon-style tattoo of Stitch, the blue alien character, shown seated and facing forward with large dark eyes and a small smile. The bold black outlines and soft grey shading give the figure volume, and the pink inner ears add a bright accent against the blue. The design fills most of the frame on smooth skin, with the image cropped closely around it.

Dora had kept lost property at Calder Bridge for nineteen years and had never once been asked to return a creature. The thing sat on the bottom shelf between a tuba case and a box of wellington boots, blue as a swimming pool tile, staring up at her with two enormous black eyes as if she were the one who had turned up unannounced. Its pink ears twitched. It had already eaten the cheese sandwich she'd left on the desk, paper and all.

"You can't stay in here," she told it. It tilted its head and made a small, unconvincing sound that might have been agreement.

By the afternoon it had got out. A man in a grey suit reported a missing pasty, then a sausage roll, then his own dignity, after he found the creature riding the luggage rack of the 14:10 to Leeds with one hand hooked through a strap, looking very pleased with itself. The guard offered it a digestive. It took the biscuit, then the guard's cap, and sat back down.

Dora found it at last on platform four, curled on the bench where the coast train was due to leave in five minutes. She had her hand out, ready to argue, but it slid down beside her and leaned its warm weight against her arm, the way a dog settles once it has finished misbehaving. The departure board clicked over. The whistle sounded. Dora stood, and so did it, and it trotted to the nearest door and climbed the step with the cap held high. Through the glass she watched it wave the cap at her. Back in the office, she wrote *one umbrella, unclaimed* on the form, then crossed it out and wrote *collected*.
