TARDIS wrapped in quote banners on the calf
Traditional · Calf · Mixed · Photo
A blue TARDIS police box with its POLICE BOX sign is wrapped by two cream banners carrying black script text. The police box has bold black outlines and blue shading, while the banners have pink shadows and a soft beige tone. The design is centred on the leg and fills most of the frame, with the banners spiralling around the box from top to bottom.

Mrs Ottilie Pask had run the lost property hatch at Harrowgate station for thirty-one years, and she knew the difference between a bag left behind and a bag abandoned on purpose. The blue box on platform four was neither. It had a lamp on its roof that blinked like a sleepy eye, and when she rapped on its door a voice inside asked, very politely, whether she had seen a small green umbrella.

She hadn't. But she had a soft spot for anything that looked mislaid, so she let the box stand. The next morning a man was leaning against it, coat pockets stuffed with bus tickets and sherbet lemons, scarf singed at one end. He said his name was Vell and that he had been a very long way off, looking at things he was not supposed to look at, until the looking got into his shoes. When he laughed, the café windows buzzed.
He wanted a cup of tea and a custard cream, and she gave him both, because the biscuit was on the house and the tea was on her. He told her about a street in a city that had not been built yet, and a clock that ran backwards out of courtesy. She told him the 7.42 to Leeds was late again. He seemed delighted by this, as if lateness were the most dependable miracle he had come across.
When the 7.42 finally pulled in, he stood, brushed crumbs from his coat and walked back to the box. At the door he turned. "Your umbrella," he said, and produced it from nowhere, green and dripping. Mrs Pask took it, looked past him at the box, which was already humming, and hung the umbrella on the hook marked UNCLAIMED, where it dripped on the tiles for the rest of her shift.
