Boba Fett and starship on upper arm

Realism · Upper arm · Colour · Photo

A realistic colour tattoo shows the armoured bounty hunter Boba Fett in his green helmet and armour, holding a long weapon across his body. A small red and grey starship flies above his shoulder against a pale blue and green sky, with a sandy, tower-lined city on the right. Soft shading gives the armour a metallic sheen, and the composition wraps around the curve of the upper arm.

The shuttle came down over Tessik Reach at the hour the sand turned copper, and Orrin Vell watched its red and grey belly through the dust-streaked viewport of the tower roof. The mark had been seen in the spice quarter two days before, buying water with a stolen ration chit. Vell had waited so long for that chit to surface that his tea had gone cold twice in his hand.

The city below was all sandstone and wind-cut stairs, the old towers standing like hollow teeth. Children flew kites of patched sailcloth from the balconies, and a boy in a torn blue vest ran the parapet below him shouting prices. Vell kept his long rifle across his knees and counted the lamps coming on one by one. Nobody in Tessik asked a hunter his business. They asked how much it paid.

The mark came out at dusk with a sack of dates and a pair of boots that did not fit him. Vell let him walk half the length of the market before he stood. The sky had gone the pale green of old bottle glass, and the ship hung over the rooftops, patient, its engine a low hum that set the tin awnings rattling.

Vell didn't raise the rifle. He dropped a coin on the parapet, tapped it twice, and called the boy's name loud enough that the mark turned. Then he waited for the moment the man understood who had been counting the lamps. The chit crumpled in the mark's fist. Vell had never once needed to hurry.
