Botanical sleeve on a man in a cat print tee
Botanical · Forearm · Mixed · Photo
A man is photographed from behind, wearing a black T-shirt with a large printed cat face and a pentagram, which is clothing rather than tattoo work. His left arm carries a sleeve of leaves and flowers in shaded linework, with red and green tones alongside grey shading. His right arm shows darker tattoo work including diamond and geometric shapes, against a plain pale background.

One March the bindweed came up pale green in the night, and by morning it had wound round the signal post and hung small white bells along the fence. Eliza did not pull it. Eliza's father had waited on platform two for a husband who sent letters from the mill towns and then stopped sending them. Eliza waited for nothing in particular, and that, she decided, was the trouble with her.
By June the vine had reached the rails and split the sleepers apart. A guard came to complain and stayed to pick the blackberries that had come with it. Nobody cut the plant back after that, and when the timetable was reprinted the clerk added a small note in the margin that read: stop here if asked.
