Bold black outline drawing of a white cartoon cat with pink bows on its head and chest, shown as a flash-style design with no body placement.

Cartoon cat with pink bows stencil

Mixed · Flash

A cartoon cat with a large pink bow on top of its head and a second pink bow tied below its face, with whiskers drawn in black lines. The design uses thick black outlines, flat white fill, a small yellow nose and solid pink shapes with no shading. The plain white background and simple, even linework suggest a stencil or flash sheet.

A story inspired by this tattoo · fiction

The third reel of pink ribbon vanished from Mrs Gallagher's haberdashery before the church clock had finished striking eleven, and by noon the whole of Leyburn Row was blaming the cat. Nobody had ever seen it take anything. It was simply always there afterwards, perched on the windowsill with its round white face, a yellow button of a nose and black whiskers that looked too long for its head, as though someone had drawn it in a hurry and grown fond of it.

Constable Dunne came round with his notebook and a face like wet cardboard. "Cats do not steal ribbon," he said. The cat blinked slowly. Mrs Gallagher pointed at the bow tied neatly over its left ear, then at the second one sitting like a pudding beneath its chin, both in a shade of pink nobody in the parish could match. The constable wrote something down, crossed it out, and went home for his dinner.

That night Mrs Gallagher sat up with a lamp and her sewing scissors, waiting. Around two o'clock the cat came down from the sill, climbed the shelf of spools with great dignity, and began to unwind a length of pink from the nearest reel. She expected it to run. Instead it carried the ribbon across the floor, out through the cat flap, and down the lane towards the old mill, where a pale blue dress hung drying on the line outside the Pearce girls' cottage, its hem torn and waiting.

By Friday every girl in Leyburn Row had a bow on her doorstep, mended and folded, and nobody ever saw the cat carry them. Mrs Gallagher began leaving a single pink loop on the sill each evening. It was always gone by morning, and the reels stopped going missing.
