Black fine line tattoo of an open mouth with teeth and a dripping outline on the upper arm, with the words What's love got to do with it inside.

Dripping open mouth with lyric quote

Fine line · Upper arm · Black and grey · Photo

The design shows an open mouth with two front teeth, a tongue and a dripping outline, with the words WHATS LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT inside the mouth in block capitals. The linework is thin, even and black, with no shading, and the tattoo is set against plain skin and a pale fabric. The composition is centred and fills most of the frame.

Dilys had the oven door open and flour to the elbow when Tomasz asked whether the glaze was too thin. It's pouring off the edge like it's got somewhere better to be."

Before dawn on Dock Lane the bakery smelled of scorched sugar and wet cardboard. The radio on the shelf was playing a song nobody had requested, a woman singing about something that had gone wrong, and Tomasz hummed the chorus while he scraped the drip tray. "Whats love got to do with it," he said, mangling the words. "Sounds like a rotten question for a Tuesday."

She didn't answer. She took the pan from him, tipped it, and watched the glaze gather in the corner and drop in fat, patient threads onto the tiles. Thirty-one years of mornings had taught her that a thing which drips has only not set yet. She sent him for the good cooling rack and told him to stop talking about the radio.

By six the buns had firmed, glossy at the top and hard at the edges, and the drips had cooled into little amber points along the lip of the tray. Tomasz carried the first one to the window and leant his forehead against the cold glass. "Still soft underneath," he said. "Give it an hour," Dilys said, and turned the sign to open.
