Minimal cat outline on the ankle
Fine line · Ankle · Black and grey · Photo
A small single-line tattoo of a cat in profile sits on the side of a foot, drawn with a simple sitting outline, pointed ears and two dots for eyes. The linework is thin and consistent in black ink, with no shading or fill. The foot rests on a green fabric background, and the tattoo is set at the centre of the frame with the toes visible at the top right.

Old Tomas rose before the church bell, as he always did, and found the ovens already warm. Nobody had lit them. The flour bins had been swept, the trays set out in rows, and on the sack by the back door sat the grey cat that had come in off the river three winters before and never once been asked to leave.

"You've been at my bread again," he said. The cat blinked at him, slow, and turned its back on the dough as if the matter were settled.
That was how the village learned the cat was honest. Every loaf it watched came out rising true, and every loaf it turned away from sank in the middle like a sigh. Tomas tried to sell the sunken ones to the carter, who took them grudgingly, and once a farmer's wife came asking why her rye had split the moment she bit it. Tomas only shrugged and looked at the sack.
One morning in the thaw the flour ran short, and the mill road was under water. Tomas sat on an upturned crate with his head in his hands, counting coins that would not buy a sack. The cat walked the length of the bench, pressed its small neat body against his wrist, and then went out into the dark courtyard. It came back with a dripping paper bag in its mouth and dropped it at his feet. Inside was a half sack of fine white flour that the miller's boy, sleepwalking, had left by the gate the night before.
Tomas laughed until he coughed, then kneaded until the sun came up, and the cat slept through all of it, curled tight with its tail round its nose, as though the bread had been its idea all along.
