Monsters Inc characters in a beaded heart
Neo-trad · Thigh · Colour · Photo
The tattoo shows Sulley, Boo and Mike Wazowski from Monsters Inc within a heart-shaped frame edged with pink beads and a yellow border, with the words 'WOULDN'T HAVE NOTHING IF I DIDN'T HAVE YOU' curving around the outside. The characters are drawn with bold black outlines and smooth colour fills in blue, purple, green and pink, with some soft shading on Sulley. The heart and characters fill the centre of the frame, with the lettering balanced around the edges.

Ada Penhallow had carried eggs along the forest path to Hollin Cross every Thursday for eleven years, and every Thursday the big blue creature with the spotted hide was waiting at the stile, pretending to be a fallen oak. The village called him Gorse because he came out of the gorse in spring and never said otherwise. Beside him sat a small hooded thing no taller than a milk churn, and clinging to Gorse's ear like a burr was a green one-eyed creature who talked enough for all three of them.

That winter the lane flooded and the beck ran brown over the causeway. Ada slipped on the stones with her basket on her hip, and the eggs went one after another into the water. She lay in the mud laughing at the ruin of it until she saw her mother's necklace had snapped and the pink glass beads were rolling away into the reeds. Gorse waded in without a word and lifted her out. The small hooded one gathered beads from the bank with its wide careful hands, and the green one counted them aloud until it reached nine and gave up.
Ada never did find the tenth bead. In March she stitched the nine she had into a heart of wool and wire and hung it on the stile post, where the spotted creature could see it from the gorse. The following Thursday there was a tenth bead threaded on the wire, bright as a coal, and the lane was dry enough to walk.
