Realistic cat face tattoo on a finger
Realism · Hand · Black and grey · Photo
A small tattoo of a cat's face sits across the middle finger of a hand resting on a light surface. The cat has tabby-style markings, with fine shaded fur, detailed whiskers and eyes that show a hint of green. The design is mostly black and grey, with a silver ring visible on the neighbouring finger.

Sit closer, the lot of you, and mind the candle, for Brother Wulfric always said the fire in this place has an appetite. Now, the cat. Her name was Tansy, a grey-striped creature with a face like a fox's grandmother, and she came to the abbey of St Oswin the winter the river froze to the mill wheel. Nobody sent for her. She walked in through the kitchen door with a dead vole in her mouth and laid it at the feet of the cellarer, as if she were paying rent.

She took the scriptorium for her own. The monks wrote by lamplight, copying psalms onto calfskin, and the mice that came sniffing for glue and gall-ink met a quiet end under her paws. Brother Ambrose, who had the steadiest hand in the house, swore she watched him letter the capitals and flicked her tail whenever he drew a line crooked. He did not forgive her for it, but he began to pause before each stroke and wait for her to settle.
Then came the year the abbot ordered the great Gospel book finished before Candlemas, and Ambrose's eyes went bad. Each evening Tansy sat on the bench beside him and stared at the page, green eyes steady as a lantern, and each evening his hand found the line. The book was finished with an hour to spare. Ambrose painted her face small in the margin of the final leaf, and that is why, if you ever see the book, you will find a cat looking out from among the saints, and not one of you will ever prove she was not there the whole time.
