Small Hello Kitty tattoo on a finger
Fine line · Hand · Mixed · Photo
A small tattoo of the Hello Kitty character sits on the side of a finger, showing the white face with black outline, black eyes, nose and whiskers, and a pink bow on top of the head. The linework is thin and even, and the pink bow is the only colour in the design. The finger points towards the left of the frame, with a red-nailed hand curled beside it against a dark fishnet background.

Mind the step, that one gives under a man who's been dancing since eight. Right, where was I. The Majestic on Pier Road, the winter the power failed for three weeks, and Mrs Oddie on the cloakroom hatch with her tin of hatpins and her cat.

The cat was white as a lick of cream, with two black dots for eyes, a nose like a full stop and whiskers drawn so fine you'd swear they were stitched on. She had a pink bow on the top of her head that Mrs Oddie said was the only colour left in Blackpool that winter. Every night the hall went dark at ten and the dancers stood about in their coats, and the cat sat on the hatch and looked at them as if they'd all forgotten the steps.
Young Terry Ashworth came in one Saturday with a shilling and a face like a wet Monday. He wanted to ask Maureen Hale for a waltz, and he had been circling her since Easter without landing. Mrs Oddie looked him up and down and tapped the hatch. 'Ask the cat,' she said. 'She's never once stood a man up.'
So Terry stood there, feeling a proper fool, and said, 'Would you care to dance, Miss Hale?' to a china cat with a bow. Maureen laughed so hard she had to sit on the bench. Then she got up, took his hand, and the lights came back on all at once, and the pink bow was the first thing anybody saw.
