Small word tattoo reading Hope on a thigh
Lettering · Thigh · Black and grey · Photo
A close view from behind shows a person in mint green shorts with a white dot print and a zipped pocket at the waistband. A small tattoo of the word Hope sits on the outer thigh, set in a simple black lettering style with a thin, even line. The ink is black and the composition is centred on the shorts and the tattoo, with the rest of the body cropped out of frame.

Her grandson Tomas came down the lane with a roll of tape and a biro, because the new tree labels had arrived the wrong size from the merchant in Hereford. They worked until the light went orange along the top wire. At the gate she gave him the last windfall, still warm from the sun, and said it would keep. He bit it, pulled a face and said it was sharp. She told him that was the point of a Bramley, then went in to put the kettle on before the wasps came back.
