Bachelorette party quote with rainbow martini glasses

Lettering · Forearm · Mixed · Photo

A hand with painted pink nails is shown from the back of the wrist, with a temporary tattoo on the inner wrist. The design reads I'm with Robin & Ashley's Bachelorette Party in black and red serif type, followed by If I'm lost, please buy me a drink above two martini glasses filled with rainbow stripes. The lines are clean and printed, with flat colour and a plain white background scattered with blurred confetti.

A story inspired by this tattoo · fiction

Dev had poured for hen parties since the Harbour Lantern opened, but the group that marched in at nine had a rota. Six women in matching sashes, one with a laminated timetable clipped to her clutch, and a cocktail assigned to every hour. Stacey had printed a dozen wrist stickers and handed them out like raffle tickets, insisting that anyone who wandered off should show a bartender the inside of her arm.

By half ten the stickers had done their work. The group had split into two camps, the rooftop lot and the pier lot, and the bride had gone missing twice, both times found leaning on the jukebox. Ivy, who had made the timetable, texted Dev asking if he could page her, then remembered she had never given him her number and sent it again in capitals.

Just before eleven a woman in a yellow raincoat tapped the bar, wrist turned up, and read her own sticker back to him as if it were scripture. Dev made the rainbow martini, the one with the striped layers that needed a steady hand and some patience, and she laughed so hard the second glass nearly went over. He asked where she was supposed to be. She said she had no idea, which was the whole point of the sticker.

At closing he found the pier crowd singing on the steps and the bride asleep with the timetable tucked under her head, Ivy's doing. He wrote a line along the bottom in biro: lost, see bar. Then he rang the taxi firm and poured himself a drink, since nobody else was going to.
