Bachelorette party temporary tattoo on wrist
Lettering · Forearm · Mixed · Photo
A close photo of a temporary tattoo on the inside of a wrist, with a message in black script and bold capitals reading I belong with, a personal name in script, then bachelorette party in large capitals and a line reading if I'm lost, buy me a drink. The bold words bachelorette party are filled with a gold, glittery leopard-print pattern, while the rest of the text is solid black. The text is centred and fills most of the frame against a plain, lightly lit background.

The bouncer at the Neptune Arms read the words aloud twice, slowly, the way you'd read a parking ticket. "If I'm lost, buy me a drink," he said. "Is that a request or a warning?" Nessa told him it was a legal document. Bridget was somewhere behind them in a tiara that had lost two of its jewels, and somebody had to find her before the taxi rank on the front gave up on them.

Nessa had been put in charge of the transfers because she was the only one who could peel one off without tearing it. Eleven of them, cut from the same sheet, the gold leopard spots catching every fairy light along the promenade. Bridget's name curled across each one in black script, so that anyone finding a stray bride could read her out like a lost dog's tag. By midnight the sheet was empty except for the one on Nessa's own arm, which she had flatly refused to share.
She tracked Bridget down in the chip shop queue, where she was splitting a battered sausage with a stranger who was crying about his ex-wife's sourdough starter. Bridget looked up, delighted, and held out her hand so Nessa could see the matching mark glinting under the strip lights.
"You're not lost," Nessa said. "You're just hungry." She bought them both a can of cola, which was not a drink in the way the sticker had meant, and the man with the sourdough got one too. The three of them walked back up the hill together, the glitter sticking to everything they touched.
