Bride tribe gold foil temporary tattoo designs
Lettering · Colour · Flash
The image shows multiple sheets of gold foil transfer designs in a flowing script, reading bride tribe with a simple arrow passing through the word tribe. A single smaller design reads Bride above a horizontal arrow. The designs are arranged on a textured light grey background with a few overlapping, and there is no skin visible.

The gold transfers came out of the envelope stuck to their backing sheets, and Priya said they looked like something from a crisp packet, which was not the reaction the bride had hoped for. Six of them, plus one spare with the word Bride on its own above an arrow, because Jess had decided that the maid of honour should be the one who pointed the way.

"Left wrist," Jess said, holding the sheet like a surgeon. "No, your left. You're the one with the emotional arm."
The trouble with the foil was that it wanted a damp sponge and a lot of patience, and we had neither. Priya pressed hers on too hard and the arrow snapped in two, so the word tribe arrived looking like it had been shot out of its own sentence. Mae's came off the paper in a long curl and stuck to her thumb, where it stayed for the rest of the afternoon, a gold smudge she kept waving at the photographer as if it were a medal.
We were supposed to be at the hotel by eleven, but at half past ten we were still on the bathroom floor with a hairdryer, blowing at the backing paper while Jess wept gently into a tissue and asked whether the arrow pointed the right way. It did. It pointed at the door, which was, I thought, rather the point of a bride's tribe: you spend the whole day being aimed at the next thing, and somebody has to hold the sponge.
