Gold metallic temporary lettering reading team bride in script on the inner forearm near the wrist.

Gold team bride script on a wrist

Lettering · Forearm · Colour · Photo

A close photograph of a hand and wrist with the words team bride written in looping gold script across the inner forearm. The lettering is bold and slightly textured, with a metallic foil finish that looks like a temporary transfer rather than ink. The composition places the wrist and text in the lower half of the frame, with a pink braided bracelet, gold cuffs and teal nail polish visible above.

You're on the eleventh-floor landing at half seven with a sheet of gold transfers from the market, because Donna insisted everyone match and nobody thought to ask whether the lettering would survive a damp stairwell. The lift has been out since Tuesday, so you carry Kerry's garment bag down eleven flights while Marnie peels the words off the backing with her thumbnail, swearing softly at each loop. The foil cracks along the curls. Team comes away whole. Bride splits down the middle like wet paper.

By the ground floor the bridesmaids are fanning their wrists in the lobby, trying to make the stickers stick with hairspray and optimism. Mrs Okafor from flat 4 leans out of her door to tell you the lift is fixed, obviously, now that nobody needs it. The photographer's van idles in the car park with its hazard lights going. Someone has pressed the wrong sheet into the wrong hand, and you cannot remember who swapped whom in the dark hallway at six o'clock, only that you were laughing too hard to check.

In the mirrored strip by the bins, you see Marnie's wrist first, the gold word bride sitting shiny and crooked over her pulse. Kerry is grinning beside her, arms out, team blazing across her skin like a sign for a shop that has just opened. You pull your own sleeve up. Nothing there but a faint gold ghost where the last transfer lifted, and a thumbprint of foil on your palm that will not wash off.
