Matching Baymax tattoos on two shoulders
Fine line · Shoulder · Black and grey · Photo
Two people are photographed from behind, bumping fists in the centre of the frame. Each has a small, simple tattoo of the cartoon robot Baymax, drawn in thin black outline with light shading on the body. The tattoos are the same design and colour, with the woman's on her upper back near the shoulder and the man's on his shoulder, against a bright, softly lit background.

Hester Vane kept the last of the lamp oil in a tin marked with a hare, and every winter she climbed the stairs of the mill to see whether the round white thing in the attic had woken. It never had, not properly. It sat among the bolts of wool with its stubby arms folded over its belly, a soft machine someone had left behind when the river froze and the mill owners walked south. Its face was two dots and a line. The single bead of light on its crown was the colour of weak tea.

The village children said it would come down when someone needed it badly enough. Hester did not believe them until the spring the Ashdown twins went out on the millpond on a dare. The ice cracked under them, and the boy went through first, and his sister caught his wrist and would not let go. She could not climb with him hanging there, and he could not climb with her weight pulling him down. So they stayed as they were, and to keep each other awake they knocked their free fists together over and over, bump, bump, bump, until the bank men came with a plank.
The bank men were too late by a good while. Hester heard the knocking from the mill door and ran up the stairs, and when she reached the attic the white thing was already standing by the window, its bead burning gold. It went down the stairs one careful step at a time, and when it reached the millpond it lowered itself onto the ice and reached out with one round hand.
Ever after, the Ashdown twins bumped fists before they crossed any ice, and the village learned that the thing in the mill only climbs down when two people call for it together.
