Matching mouse silhouette wrist tattoos
Fine line · Forearm · Black and grey · Photo
Two wrists are shown side by side, each carrying a Mickey Mouse head silhouette with a small heart shape cut into the ear. The left tattoo is a single thin black outline with an unfilled centre, while the right is a solid black fill with crisp edges. The image is black and white, with a plain light background that keeps the focus on the ink.

She tried again, smaller, and the little notch sat in the top of the ear like a thumbprint.

Before dawn the bakery belonged to the two of them and the flour dust hanging in the lamplight. Their gran had stamped every seeded cob with a round-eared mouse, a solid black shape pressed into the crust with a dusted pad, and she had never let anyone else do it. Since the funeral the cobs had come out plain, and the regulars had started to ask. Maggie laid the cut card over a tray of dough, lifted it away, and left only an outline, pale and thin where the dust had settled.
Tom studied the tray for a long time. Then he took the pad, dusted it, and pressed it hard into the next batch so the mouse came up dark and full beside her empty outline. "One of each," he said. "She'd have said one of each."
By six the shutter was up and the queue reached the pavement. The first customer at the counter pointed at the solid cob, then the hollow one, and asked which was the real one. Maggie said they both were, and wrapped them in the same brown paper.
