We were both in Mr Harcourt's geography set, which meant we spent most lessons passing notes that were mostly mice. She drew them when she was bored and I traced them when I was stuck on isobars. By the sixth form she could knock one out in four seconds without lifting her pen, while I still couldn't manage a circle that didn't wobble.
