Nessa keeps the wire heart game in a tin trunk under the Waltzer's generator, and she has asked you twice now to bend the spare loop back into shape before the ground crew sees it. The wire is thin enough to nick the skin if you pull it too quick, so you go slowly, feeling the little curl at its lower point settle under your thumb.
