Metallic temporary tattoo sheets in gold and silver
Geometric · Colour · Flash
Several sheets of metallic temporary tattoo designs are spread across a grey surface beside pastel green, pink and blue paper envelopes. The designs include lace-like lattice bands, chain links, dotted borders, sunburst motifs and leaf sprigs, printed in gold and silver foil on white backing. The arrangement is viewed from above with soft, even lighting.

A story inspired by this tattoo · fiction
The gold had run out before the lady's bands were finished, so Piers Haddon cut the last of it from his mother's candlestick and laid it across the lattice with a bone folder, the way his father had taught him. The lady waited in the ruin of Caldmoor Keep, where the roof had fallen in before anyone's grandfather was born and the sky came down through the hall like a pale cloth.

She wore no sleeves that day, only a chain of small rings at her wrist, and she would not say who had broken the others. Piers pressed each band to her skin with a damp cloth and counted to nine, as he had been told. When he lifted the backing, the sun had swung round through the eastern window and laid a sunburst across the flagstones, and the lady said it was the first honest thing anyone had made in that keep in a hundred years.
She told him to take the rest of the bands down to the village and wear them in front of the reeve, who had sold the keep's stones to build his new barn. Piers went down the hill with a roll of silver and gold in his coat. At the reeve's door he peeled one from his own wrist, and the leaf-sprig came up on his skin bright as a coin, and the reeve's wife, who had been counting her dead husband's debts all winter, asked where a boy could buy such a thing.
By spring every gate in the valley bore a sunburst, and the reeve paid his labourers in silver foil that washed off on the first wet day. Piers never went back up to Caldmoor. Only once did he hear that someone had climbed the broken stair and found the lady's chain of rings lying on the top step, still warm, with no one near it.
