Two Minions with speech bubble
Other · Colour · Photo
Two yellow Minion characters with blue overalls stand side by side, one pointing and both with open mouths. A black-outlined speech bubble above them contains a stylised word in dark lettering. The linework is bold and clean, with flat colour fills and light shading on the goggles and bodies. The tattoo fills the centre of the frame on smooth skin.

Gorb had the lid off the biscuit tin before the vicar finished his second cup, and by the time Mrs Ashdown turned from the kettle the tin was empty and Pim was pointing at the ceiling as though the crumbs had flown up there of their own accord. Nobody in Little Hatherley had ever seen a creature quite like the pair of them. They had arrived on the back of the Thursday coal lorry, yellow as a custard tart, and had been eating their way through the parish ever since.

The trouble was the shouting. Whenever they were pleased, which was most of the time, they hollered the same word at the top of their lungs, and it had the whole village half convinced it meant something rude in a foreign tongue. Pim swore it meant good morning. Gorb insisted it meant the bread was ready. The vicar, who had a degree in Latin and very little patience, said it sounded like a bicycle bell being strangled.
On the Saturday of the flower show, the judges' tea urn sprang a leak, and the two of them set about mending it with a bent spoon, a jar of marmalade and a great deal of argument. Everyone gathered at the back of the marquee, half expecting the whole thing to go up in a puff of steam. Instead Gorb climbed inside the urn, Pim held the lamp, and the tea came out clear and hot and tasting faintly of oranges.
Nobody asked them to leave after that. Mrs Ashdown started setting out a cup for each of them on the windowsill, and every morning the cups came back empty and shining, with a little banana scratched on the bottom of each saucer. Nobody ever worked out what the bananas meant either.
